Netflix To Release Film Version of Jeff Ross: Take A Banana For The Ride on March 24
Netflix has announced today that the film version of the hit Broadway solo show Jeff Ross: Take A Banana for the Ride will be released globally on March 24, 2026. Click here to find it on Netflix.
Jeff Ross: Take a Banana for the Ride marks Jeff Ross’s Broadway debut and a potent evolution of his famed “Roastmaster General” persona. The show reveals a more personal, heartfelt side of Ross, blending comedy, storytelling, and music to celebrate life, honor loss, and embrace life’s unexpected turns. The special is produced by Jeff Ross, Amy Zvi and John Skidmore. It's directed by Seth Barrish and was filmed in September 2025 during the final weekend of the Broadway engagement.
Originally staged at Nederlander Theatre during an eight-week limited Broadway engagement in 2025, the production unveiled a rare autobiographical portrait of the Emmy-nominated comedian, tracing the early experiences and family relationships that shaped both his voice and his career. Developed specifically for the stage and shaped in performance before live audiences, the work represents Ross’s first theatrical solo show following more than three decades in stand-up and television comedy.
Jeff Ross: Take a Banana for the Ride was directed on Broadway by Stephen Kessler (Vegas Vacation, Paul Williams: Still Alive), with creative consultation by Jeff Calhoun (Newsies), dramaturgy by Seth Barrish (Mike Birbiglia: The Old Man & the Pool), and music direction by Asher Denburg. The Broadway show was produced by Eric Nederlander, Robert Nederlander Jr., Marc Cornstein, and Tony Eisenberg, with ShowTown Productions serving as Executive Producer.
